Greenworks Announces New North American President

CHARLOTTE — Greenworks, a leader in lithium-ion-battery-powered outdoor equipment for DIY consumers and landscape professionals, has announced the addition of Brian McCarthy as its president of its North American unit.

McCarthy has spent more than 35 years in the consumer products industry, with a large part of his experience centered on managing the sales and marketing efforts of some of the country’s most well-regarded tool companies. McCarthy has a great depth of experience in the lawn-and-garden, power-tool, and hand-tool categories, specifically.

Greenworks announced in December 2017 a $10 million investment that brought 187 jobs to a distribution facility housed in the 510,000-square-foot Heritage Home Group building on Causby Road in Morganton.

McCarthy is well-regarded for his leadership ability, most recently acting as the vice president of sales for RZ Industries. At RZ, McCarthy introduced and placed new lines of products in many national-level sales channels, including Lowe’s Home Improvement, one of Greenworks’ biggest customers.
